Michael Paul Coder – forget-YES YES YES! I am able to run track eye movement DJ Shog – This Is My Sound)))))
Now sew a headband with electrodes EEG-SMT, http://postimg.org/image/3kiifv9en/.
‘ll Sleep with her uncomfortable – yes, but necessary.
Sleep with NeuroSky ThinkGear EEG-one wireless convenient and easy.
Before communication.
Elite. I see you have 3 active electrodes in there. You should be able to replace the electrode in the middle with the passive electrode (DLR) and still get it to trigger on eye movements. This is what my setup looks like: http://i.imgur.com/3n14ti1.jpg. Very comfortable and no sewing required. Check the halographs page for do it yourself instructions.
Can you get the Morse Code working with the NeuroSky ThinkGear EEG plugin?
Michael Paul Coder thanks for the reply and help!! Try Mattel Mindflex 0.9.4, on EEG-SMT – I’m just starting to understand and explore, using Lucid Scribe and ElectrikGuru. I will keep up to date – thanks for everything!
I want to have NeuroSky’s activities change the color and speed of an LED strip. Is that possible? I have no coding experience this this a job for a coder?
Sure. What type of LED strips would you like to use?
Hey Michael: Great to get your response. I am looking at these: http://www.adafruit.com/products/306. I also suspect that I will have to change the light pattern of the LEDs. They natively illuminate linearly and I would like to control the illumination speed as well and make the order random looking. Any thoughts on how to progress on this project would be awesome.
This guys has it running via USB: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UdGOdQhpz80. If you can figure out what contraption he shows at 1:10, I could write a plugin for Lucid Scribe to send commands to it through the USB port.
Thanks, yes I know what that contraption is and can be run via bluetooth. Can Neurosky output to bluetooth?
Have you an email address where we can discuss details off line?
You can reach me at mcoder@lucid-code.com.
I could write a Lucid Scribe plugin to output the NeuroSky measurements to Bluetooth. Do you have the headset working in Lucid Scribe?
Greetings to all researchers! We dismantled the Mindflex Duel Game, disconnected fee NeuroSky. Combined it with BLUETOOTH – data goes, but after a while stop …. Could you write a program —– — signal transmission via bluetooth to USB with a visual display of frequencies. EEG also have CMT OLIMEKS, we will conduct experiments with your program. Neurosky but has the advantage of Wi-he! Sorry for my english – I write through the translator. Den,
Elite. The Mindflex plugin should work for your setup. You can download it from this thread: https://lucidcode.com/2013/08/23/mattel-mindflex-0-9-4/. Then you can select the COM port on which the Bluetooth is connected and it will be visually displayed and logged in data files for later review of the experiments. Please let me know if that works for you.
How did the experiments with the EEG SMT from Olimex go? Were you able to get it to trigger the audio tracks by only moving your eyes behind closed lids?
Hello the scale ranging from 0 to 1000 is in Hertz or another unit? regards
I did some math on the numbers returned from the device to scale them into the 1000 range. From the source code:
I can check the NeuroSky spec and see what unit they were originally in.
Yes, please, I want to know if in Hz or micro volts. Thanks for responding so fast, Greetings
From Brain Wave Signal (EEG) of NeuroSky, Inc.:
Just for clarity, (from a card-carrying EEGer) Recorded from the scalp with any kind of electrode (including needle electrodes) EEG amplitudes ranges from 10-100 uV (micro volts) while awake. Beta activity is typically much lower in amplitude that Alpha or Theta, say10 uV versus 50uV.
With deep sleep or coma delta activity may reach several hundred uV. Cerebral death is usually defined as having no recorded EEG activity greater than 2uV. Certain types of epilepsy may produce abnormal discharges (Spike-wave activity) that may exceed 1000 or even 2000 uV (=2mV).
EEG activity recorded from subdural electrodes is similar to that on the surface of the brain and is usually 5-10x greater in amplitude thanscalp EEG.
thanks!
You can use this formula to convert the values on the Raw EEG channel to voltages: (rawValue * (1.8/4096)) / 2000. This is due to a 2000x gain, 4096 value range, and 1.8V input voltage.
I have recently started with Mindwave mobile which connects with brain Visualizer etc, but not with lucidscribe using the thinkgear connector 9.6. I get cpu display but nothing from EEG, meditation, alpha, etc. The EEG plot is flat at 256. Also the exit command does not close the program making it even harder to check different com ports. Thethinkgear icon shows a connection to visualizer but not lucid scribe. closing visualizer doesn’t help.
HELP!
You should only have ThinkGear Connecter running before you start Lucid Scribe. The program minimizes to the system tray, next to the time – if you right-click on the icon and select Exit, it should close. Also, make sure that no other programs are connected to ThinkGear Connector, so close Brain Visualizer.
Please let me know if that works and if you can trigger the audio track by blinking six times.
I have followed your suggestions and have also installed the newest updates LS1.2.1, TG plugin.0.9.6. and NETframework 4.0 Still a flat display and no connection to TGC 3.1.9.0. I am running Windows 6.0, service pack 2 (Vista).
When connected to Visualizer, TGC shows ‘STATUS: connected’. This changes to ‘STATUS: disconnected’ immediately when Visualizer is disconnected. However, the TGC status always remained ‘disconnected’ when I run LS 1.2.1.
I hope we can work this out. Thanks
I managed to get it connected again on my machine with Lucid Scribe 1.2.1 and ThinkGear EEG 0.9.6!
1.) Close all apps – ThinkGear Connector should be ‘disconnected’.
2.) Open ThinkGear Connector and note the COM port.
3.) Open Lucid Scribe and select the COM port.
4.) ThinkGear Connector should remain ‘disconnected’, but Lucid Scribe should pick up the signal.
Mine is now working too w/ LS 1.2.1 and TG 0.9.6. I will email you a 1min screen shot that shows recording from the Occiptal region (Oz) and a response to 5 seconds of eye closing (which produces a big increase in alpha in most (but not all) people. You will see that the Alpha output increases with a short delay and then slowly decays. This suggests the use of a moving average in the algorithm. The EEG itself has been heavily filtered and is far from ‘raw’. You really can’t see the alpha activity even thought the FFT sees it!
Two issues for the moment. Any way to get the raw unfiltered EEG (I believe thinkgear can send messages to mindwave mobile to make such changes). Second, saving of realtime date is inconsistent and not controllable by me at least. Sometimes it log, sometimes not, no way to tell until you look at the log files. So I have a lot of empty logged minutes. How about a logging indicator and a toggle or radio button to start/stop logging. Great job and getting better
Awesome! Thanks for your patience. I will update the instructions on the plugin download page, as even I was confused last night, expecting the ThinkGear Connector to be ‘connected’.
There should not be any empty logged minutes. Lucid Scribe outputs everything to the “Current” view, and writes it to file at the end of each minute. Can you also send a log file with missing minutes when you send the screenshot? Just right-click on the hour and select export and send me the LSD file. I have had this happen with earlier versions of Lucid Scribe when my machine was under heavy load… so I might still have some tweaking to do.
From what I have seen, the “NeuroSky EEG” channel is raw and unfiltered, or at least changes without delay. But the brainwave channels are definitely delayed and have a moving average like you noticed. I programmed the moving average into the source code to smooth out the graph, as the value from the hardware only updates every second and created squares in the graph, e.g.:
So, say we have a value of 500 for one second and then it updates to a value of 600: instead of having 10 dots in a flat line at 500 and then a jump to 600 for the next 10 dots, it starts at 500 and increments by 10 until it gets to 600. I can duplicate all the channels without the average if you like? But we won’t be able to get the values without a delay, except, perhaps – if we recalculate them from the raw “NeuroSky EEG” channel?
The Neurosky EEG output is clearly bandpass filtered, I don’t know if it is possible to get the real raw data but it sure would be nice.
Initialization seems to be another issue/solution. LS Connects with TGC only if you run TGC immediately before. If you run visualizer and then close and then try to run LS the connection fails. In a slightly similar way Logging starts and continues when you start LS (after a full exit) until you open log file. Then logging continues to show entries (384, 386, etc/min) but the log data display is blank. As for the frequency data, plotting one (large) point /sec would be a place to start. With a little more programing you could connect the dots or just draw a line back 1sec which is likely to be the epoch of FFT analysis.
Could you send an email where I can communicate directly with you in my gmail environment? thanks
