The Lucidscribe Zeo plugin somehow does not indicate change of the sleep.stage to 2 (REM) and stayed at zero throughout the night
The basis and zeo decoder agree well in detecting REM onset
Right now my aim at first is to nail down exact onset of REM sleep, using comparision between Zeo, Basis and LucidScribe thinkgear REM blink detection
Next step will be to perfect the triggering of the tAcs from Zeo stage 2 or the Thinkgear. Don’t wanna zap myself in the night unless it is positively REM. Could you post the Zeo plugin on github too? Thanks
Finally got the zeo plugin working and here is the log as promised
Tonite will try the zeo headband if the stage goes to 2
The spikes are blinks
Awesome, nice to see it working. Feel free to export some logs to LSDBase, would love to see some of the logs. Once I have some data on the Zeo, I can add a Zeo REM channel to trigger the audio tracks and maybe also the tACS / Arduino. Will make it configurable to trigger on the stage going to 2 and / or blinking / eye movements. It might make more sense to create output plugins that can perhaps be added to the playlist and move the Arduino code there so it can be used from all plugins.
How to export to LSDbase? I registered for the username, right click export to LSDbase, yes?
Yes!
Comparing the Lucid scribe REM detection algorithm Vs the Basis B1 band
The threshold for blink detection lowered to 400, shows pretty good alignment
The scale is fixed at 1000, was wondering if it can be made user adjustable with an entry dialog for setting min and max
Elite, thanks. Invaluable data. If you happen to wake up from a vivid dream, please note the time. I suspect that most REM periods are duds in that you are just thinking far-out thoughts as opposed to full-blown hallucinations. Do you remember any dreams from that night?
Yes had a kinda scary dream yesterday that I remember vividly, between 5am-6am that matches with the REM sleep detected by Basis/Thinkgear, but I will not zap myself in sleep again until I gather enough data on real REM onset.
Also programmed the arduino to only arm the trigger between 4am to 6am, but that means wearing the tacs headband all night. Better still I will wakeup at 4am and then put the tacs band on, once we nail down this REM detection thingy
Thanks man, the scaled axis mod works great and I owe you big-time…yet again
My basis B1 band arrived today along with Brain-athelete
I ordered the Brain-athelete band because it does not need an ear clip like the others (Myndplay Brain-bandXL /Mind-wave which I have) and has a cool earpiece design that does not pinch while sleeping

The Basis B1 is supposedly the best in the market for REM detection but they do not provide an API to export live data, so for now I will just use it to compare it against the Lucidscribe eye REM detection and verification.
Next step will be to try and hack the Basis B1, since it has blue-tooth, will try and use Wireshark to intercept the live feed and hopefully work on a Lucidscribe plug-in

The Zeo has not arrived yet, and when it does I will send you the logs to trigger the arduino when the sleep.stage goes to 2. Sorry, I got excited and requested you for the mod even before I got my hands on it
Had another weird lucid dream earlier today, triggered by the tacs. Saw this bright light in the dream and remember chiding myself that I must have forgotten to turn off the bedroom light, so in this strange dream I awoke and could see my room clearly was lighted up and as I reached out to turn off the light, I was paralyzed and couldn’t move at all. That’s when I woke up from the dream and it was dark and the lights were actually tuned off….
Sure. If you send me the Wireshark logs, I might see something… The OpenEEG plugin should be the best one to copy to start with: https://github.com/lucidcode/LucidScribe-OpenEEG/L80-L149.
Congrats on the LD!
