Lucid Scribe Android – ThinkGear EEG Beta

I almost have the ThinkGear EEG plugin ready for the Google Play store. It should automatically connect to the MindWave if it has previously been paired under the Android Bluetooth settings. After changing the data source between raw EEG, eSense and brainwaves, the MindWave has to be turned off and on. The logging is not yet complete and will be an extra feature, so don’t do anything fancy. And neither of the algorithms will trigger the audio track yet.

If you have some spare time, please give it a test and let me know if it picks up the data from your ThinkGear EEG device. And please let me know if you find any bugs or strange behavior.

Added “Copy With Axes” option when right-clicking on a graph and fixed the copy to clipboard function on the minute graph. Pro tip for those not in the know yet: right-click on a log in the tree view and select export.

Lucid Scribe Android – Halovision 1.0

Lucid Scribe now runs on Android and the first plugin is available on Google Play! It measures the amount of change between each frame from the camera. And can be configured to play audio tracks when any motion is detected or when rapid eye movement patterns are detected during a dream: electrooculography (EOG). The idea is to place the phone on a nightstand with the camera facing the bed, then lie on your side facing the nightstand.

Halovision Android

The REM detection algorithm is experimental and is currently being investigated over at the Dream View’s Research forum using the desktop webcam version. It will clearly only work during an afternoon nap or with a night-light on. It can be tested by blinking six times in a row, with two seconds between each blink, facing a mirror if you don’t have a forward-facing camera on your phone.
